More Memories of Mom

Anything copper was another favorite of my mom’s.  She loved copper accessories in her kitchen!  I remember her having a copper tea kettle when I was a little girl.  Not sure what happened to that kettle, but some other of her copper pieces have survived the years and now sit atop my kitchen cabinets. One is a little copper bucket with lid that we used for sugar. Another resembles a miniature butter churn which we used for jam or jelly.  I also have  salt and pepper shakers, a butter dish, and a coffee percolator.

February 12 marked what would have been my mom’s 90th birthday.  Three times since she passed away in 2007, my sister and I got together for lunch on her birthday.  This is no small task!  You see, my sister lives in Alabama, and I live in SC, so we each drive 3 hours toward each other and meet at the same restaurant for lunch and memories!  This year we wanted our daughters and my sister’s grandchildren to join us, but due to sickness and work, not all could come.

The Mrs. G's

A mother-daughter project (our married names both begin with G) to rejuvenate our love of cooking and make meals creative and exciting! And now that I (mom) have discovered the Trim Healthy Mama way of cooking, I am trying to incorporate more healthful recipes!
