2013 Reflections and 2014 Goals

It is hard to believe that we are down to the final 12 hours of 2013!  Time really does seem to fly as we grow older.  The end of one year and the start of another gives time for reflection on the past and goal setting for the future!

There were many memory-making events in my family during 2013…2 engagements; one wedding; a high school graduation; a 3rd son becoming part of the USAF; and our 25th wedding anniversary to name just a few.

This blog reached over 12,000 views yesterday! Many thanks to all you readers and to Pinterest as well.  My post on easy pie crusts was the most viewed post ever!  You can read about it here just in case you happened to miss it!

I’m looking forward to trying new things during 2014.  The hubs and I want to eat more healthful foods…organic foods…whole foods.  I am beginning to read labels more often than I used to and choosing to purchase those foods which are better for us.  I hope to be able to share recipes that will not only taste good, but be good for you!

I am also eagerly awaiting my first kit of Young Living Essential Oils.  I’ve been hearing lots of good things about these oils and recently decided that it is time to give them a try.  It is important to take care of our health, and as I’ve gotten older, I realize it even more.  You can learn a bit more about these oils here. My niece writes this blog and is totally sold on the essential oils! She and my sister are the reason why I am giving them a try!

If 2013 was not a good year for you, I hope that you can look forward to a better year in 2014.  I love what I read this morning from the works of Charles Spurgeon:  “He who hath helped thee hitherto will help thee all thy journey through.”   Our help on this journey of life is our God.

A mother-daughter project (our married names both begin with G) to rejuvenate our love of cooking and make meals creative and exciting! And now that I (mom) have discovered the Trim Healthy Mama way of cooking, I am trying to incorporate more healthful recipes!
