Black Bottom Cupcakes

I discovered this morning that I am only 39 views away from the goal I had set for the end of 2015. I’m only 2 months behind…oh, well. I guess I shouldn’t have set such a lofty goal of 20,000 total views! This year I will be a little more realistic! Oh, and this is post #375! I guess that’s not bad for 5 years of blogging.

I also saw this recipe today and thought I would share it here with you. It looks so amazing!! I definitely need to give it a try. I think you all will enjoy it too!

Taryn over at Joy Filled Eats has created this dessert. I am new to following her blog, but if this recipe is any indication of her creativity in the kitchen, I will be making quite a few of her others!

Winter Storm, Day 3 and Chocolate Sheet Cake

For the third day in a row, I awoke this morning to beautiful falling snow! This a a very rare occurrence here in the south. I am loving the view from my back deck today!

Weather like this closes up our town for days; therefore, moms like me and other sweet ladies find themselves at home for more time than usual.  Snow days always call for the baking of comfort foods  that we do not normally make.

Since chocolate is the ultimate comfort food, I decided yesterday that I needed to bake something chocolaty today if we still had our electricity. Well, we do still have our electricity, so I made this fantastic chocolate sheet cake this morning. Several friends were raging about it yesterday on Facebook, so I decided to give this recipe a try.  It is wonderful!! I cut the recipe in half since we seriously do not need lots of deserts in the house!

Bacon Bark

Merry Christmas to all my readers! Thanks to you, I am just 52 views away from 12,000 views to this blog…5,000 more than last year at this time!  Believe me, this is pretty exciting to me…a stay-at-home-almost-empty-nester mom!!

One of my sweet Sunday school children gave me a bag of homemade goodies as a Christmas gift. At the bottom of the bag were 2 or 3 pieces of a delicious chocolate treat. I didn’t know what it was until my newly-wed son dropped by the house and decided to try some. “Mom, are you aware that this is chocolate covered bacon?”  Um, no, I was not aware of that. I knew only that it tasted delicious.  He thought so, too, and immediately told his brothers who devoured the rest of it.

Needless to say, I had to find out the recipe!  It comes from another blogger here at wordpress.   You can find this delicious treat here.  I have not made this recipe yet, but I am sure I will soon.  The boys just loved it!

Mint Chocolate Cookie Crunch

My niece, Kelly, over at www.joyfuladorations.blogspot.com  just shared this amazing recipe for no-bake cookies!  They look perfect for moms who  have  little toddlers wanting to help make some Christmas goodies.  I absolutely love chocolate and mint together, although the hubby does not.  So if I do make these, I will have to eat most of them by myself…not planning to do that!
